About Eurodl
The European Journal of Open, Distance and E-Learning (EURODL) is an electronic, multi-media, open access journal. It publishes the accounts of research and presents scholarly work and solid information about open, distance, online and e-learning in technology-enhanced education and training in its most inclusive definition.
Publications can be found in the following Sections:
- "Peer-reviewed articles".
- "Brief Items" including non-refereed articles on project reports, case studies, work in progress, fresh ideas and other contributions that support communication between the EDEN membership and the wider European ODeL community. Non-English articles are welcome with an abstract in English.
- "Book Reviews".
In 2014, the EDEN Executive Committee assigned Dr. Ulrich Bernath, Trustee and Director of the "Ulrich Bernath Foundation for Research in Open and Distance Learning" and Senior Fellow of EDEN, as Chief Editor of EURODL. Between June 2013 and June 2014 he served as Acting Chief Editor. His expert knowledge and extensive experience in the field of open, distance, online and e-learning, his comprehensive understanding of open access culture and long lasting personal participation in EDEN activities guarantee the journal's (constant) distinguished role in the field.
Thanks to a recent agreement, EURODL articles are now also published on the sophisticated electronic content hosting and distribution platform of the Sciendo company (formerly De Gruyter Open). The environment helps by automatic creation of active reference links, delivery of abstracts to abstracting databases, easy integration with library systems and user authentication. With the marketing services included, EURODL gains increased visibility, citation, a higher impact factor and reference linking, thus reach more readers and potential authors, enhancing further the global availability of the Journal.
